Well yesterday was the last day for 1984. It did not turn out the way I expected. Especially from all that I heard about the book previously. I thought I was gonna come away with a new outlook on things such as the government, privacy, rights and all that good stuff. I believe my disappointment comes from the fact that he discusses ideas that could be relevant and true to any period of time in history. Now don't get me wrong the things discussed in the book were very thought provoking such as the point brought up about the surplus of money from the economy being spent on a never ending war in order to prevent a more equal and affluent society. And the idea of being watched all the time and nothing being private definitely hits home because we're experiencing that to a great degree nowadays. I guess that I' m so used to reading books that are earth shaking, that this turned out to be a bit of a downer. I don't know guys tell me what you think?

P.S. Check out the Students for Orwell site it's hilarious and a bit disturbing. Oh yeah don't be afraid to comment all you have to do is click on the comment link below, type in your comments and click publish, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE A MEMBER TO COMMENT.
